Toronto Language Tapestry: Exploring Heritage Languages

From Italian to Cantonese, the Toronto Language Tapestry workshop explores heritage languages spoken across Canada’s largest city.

Sponsored by the Department of Linguistics and Canada’s Sesquicentennial Initiatives Fund, topics include:

  • Italian’s global linguistic space: The case of Ontario
  • Schwa in Ontario French
  • The bilingual experience of Spanish heritage children in the Nation’s Capital
  • Perception of Cantonese tone
  • Polish Case and Code-switching
